The Second Coming of Milovan Rajevac.

Sports

Milo is back!!! Former Black Stars coach, who led Ghana to the World Cup quarterfinals in South Africa in 2010, is back in charge.

The worst kept secret in Ghana football was finally revealed on September 24, 2021, when the GFA announced the new Black Stars Coach. Rumors circulated shortly after the dismissal of Coach C.K Akonnor about the possible return of Milovan Rajevac, who had been missing since leaving the Black Stars post.

The Serbian coach has signed a one-year contract that will be extended if the Black Stars qualify for the 2022 World Cup, which will be held in Qatar. Maxwell Konadu and Dortmund coach Otto Addo will assist him, with Richard Kingston serving as the goalkeeper’s trainer.

His short term-goal, will be to get the Black Stars qualification to Qatar 2022 back on track when they face Zimbabwe next month in a double header. For the longer term, he will be urged to go one step further than his last appearance in the African Nation Cups. Where he led the Black Stars to the final of the 2010 African Nation Cup. The task at next year’s AFCON is straight forward for the new coach. Win the title at all cost. Ghana has made two appearances in the AFCON finals since 2010. The trophy is the goal for the coach and technical team this time around.

Will Milo’s second coming bring back the love for the Black Stars? We will have to wait and see.
